A new episode of Smartcherry TV is coming; Next Friday, May 3, at 16:00 PM (-GMT4), we will address the beginning of dormancy in the southern hemisphere, a stage of great relevance in cherry orchards.

What aspect of the plants should we pay attention to at this time? This will be one of the big questions that specialists will answer. The Chilean cherry advisors, Carlos Tapia and ร“scar Aliaga, as well as the technical coordinator of Avium, Bruno Tapia, will analyze in detail the beginning of the winter break in the orchards, through different examples and field visits.

โ€œWe visited different orchards in the Maule and O’Higgins region in Chile, together with advisors and cherry producers, in order to be able to see in situ the different scenarios that the plants showed at the end of April; In a very clear and didactic way, the specialists reviewed all the key aspects of this time of year and explained what to do in case the plants are not presenting a favorable scenario to go to rest,โ€ explained Andrea Garrido, Editorial Director of Smartcherry.

Additionally, the agroclimatologist from the University of Talca, Patricio Gonzรกlez, will refer to key aspects of the coming months and how and when the โ€œLa Niรฑaโ€ phenomenon will be positioned in the country with the largest export of cherries in the world.

This episode is sponsored by UPL’s Nordox, Chemie Agro, Greenhas, Corteva and Agro World Spain.

Available with english subtitles on May 3 at 4:00 p.m. (GMT -4) and in spanish on May 2 at 9:00 p.m. (GMT -4)
