With the season at stake and information crucial, the China Cherry Mid-Season Summit 2026 stands out as a unique opportunity for the industry.
The event will take place on January 14 at the Conrad Hotel in Guangzhou, China, organized by Shanghai EverFlourish Events Co., Ltd., in conjunction with the Global Cherry Summit by Yentzen Group, with the support of the Chilean Cherry Fruit Committee and the China Chamber of Commerce of Import & Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce & Animal By-Products (CFNA).
The purpose? Bringing together the cherry industry—producers and exporters—with importers and supermarket chains in China to gain direct market feedback, analyze the most relevant aspects of the season, and receive key inputs to understand its evolution: a pre-season assessment on-site, directly from the industry players.
This objective is based on a unique context: every January, Guangzhou hosts a large number of Chilean producers and exporters alongside key players and leaders from the Chinese industry, creating an ideal opportunity to share perspectives, experiences, and knowledge, take the pulse of the market, and strengthen commercial strategies.
Why attend the Cherry Mid-Season Summit 2026?
“The China Cherry Mid-Season Summit 2026, an initiative driven by the Chinese industry in collaboration with the export sector, responds to a specific industry need: access to real-time, direct information. Holding the event in Guangzhou during January also provides a strategic opportunity for networking and a preliminary assessment of the season’s progress,” says Claudia Soler, Executive Director of the Chilean Cherry Fruit Committee.
Guangzhou handles approximately 70% of Chilean cherry exports to China, making it the first point of reference for evaluating the season’s performance and the ideal setting for this type of strategic event. The Guangzhou market, seeking to foster relationships among key industry players, will be a significant participant in the event.
“For the Chinese market, this event allows for direct interaction with all links in the supply chain and generates better coordination between supply and demand, contributing to orderly and successful progress with a shared vision,” says Kurt Huang, General Manager of Shanghai EverFlourish Events Co., Ltd.
Gustavo Yentzen, CEO of Yentzen Group, summarizes it: “This is a unique opportunity. Every January, a large number of Chilean producers and exporters converge in Guangzhou, and bringing the industry together at this crucial time allows for the sharing of perspectives, experiences, and knowledge among Chinese industry players and leaders. This meeting point allows both countries to get an initial feel for the market, strengthen commercial strategies, and ensure success before the Chinese New Year.”
George Liu, Vice President of Kingo Group and Diamond Sponsor of the event, highlights the importance of this gathering: “Chinese cherry consumers are becoming more sophisticated every year, which is an excellent sign for the category. Mid-season transparency isn’t just about prices, but also about aligning on quality, condition upon arrival, and the overall consumer experience—key elements for building trust. Bringing exporters, importers, and retailers together in Guangzhou allows us to make faster, more informed decisions and keep the season running smoothly for everyone.”
This meeting is part of the Global Cherry Summit’s ecosystem of events. The seventh edition will take place in April 2026, with more than 1,800 participants and 90 companies, solidifying its position as the industry’s global meeting point at the close of the season. It offers analysis and a space for reflection that facilitates planning for the following season.
