We spoke with Matías Navarrete, CEO of Cogrowers, about how technological tools are fundamental to improving the quality of the fruits that Chile exports to the world.
In an exclusive conversation with Matías Navarrete, CEO of Cogrowers, during the sixth edition of the Global Cherry Summit held at the Monticello Events Center, we discussed the importance of specifically monitoring variables and climatic conditions to produce quality fruits.
Navarrete explained that “to monitor good fruit, to have quality fruit, it is necessary to specifically monitor different variables and climatic conditions of the fruit because, effectively, depending on the phenological state, strategic decisions must be made.” He affirmed that it is essential for the fruits to have good size and firmness so that “markets can receive them with better sales expectations and prices.”
Cogrowers is an online mobile platform that connects producers with the quality of their fruit in the orchard in an easy, quick, and precise manner, adapting to the standards they define. With this technology, the use of paper and pencil is left behind, offering a modern system that communicates directly via WhatsApp, delivering simple and clear real-time reports.
Key benefits of this system include the speed and consolidation of information, allowing farmers to make timely and accurate decisions. Additionally, its pay-per-use model makes it an accessible and low-cost solution.
Cogrowers allows customization of sampling parameters according to the producer’s needs, minimizing errors by limiting data modification to a single authorized profile. Thanks to its technology, information is processed and delivered in real-time, ensuring an agile and reliable assessment of fruit quality.
The service also includes technological tools and personalized reports that are automatically generated each time a user executes a quality spreadsheet. This information is timestamped and stored in the cloud to ensure efficient and secure tracking over time.
Navarrete concluded by inviting producers to join these efforts, stating, “We invite you to join us, to ask us questions, and we will be happy to help.”
Cogrowers will be present at the largest technical cherry gathering in the world on June 17 at CherryTech.
