The average price of cherries fell 27% compared to the previous week, from £7.76/kg to £5.69/kg, with a price range between £4.41/kg and £8.00/kg. Plums of other varieties fell 19% to an average of £2.16/kg, while Victoria plums dropped 7% to £2.39/kg.
Blueberries fell 5%, from £9.71/kg to £9.22/kg, and blackberries dropped 3% to £8.92/kg. Strawberries declined 8%, with an average price of £3.82/kg.
In the apple category, Bramley’s Seedling averaged £1.37/kg, down 9% from the previous week’s £1.50/kg. Other early apples fell 7% to £1.39/kg.
Raspberries bucked the general trend, with an average price rising 12%, from £8.44/kg to £9.43/kg, with prices ranging from £4.80/kg to £13.84/kg.
Prices for blackcurrants remained unchanged at £10.50/kg, as did those for redcurrants, which held steady at £13.60/kg. Pears of other varieties also remained unchanged at £1.10/kg.
