The agricultural engineer delved into the characteristics of this variety, which makes it so in-demand because it is the first to be exported, explaining that its growth has been exponential in terms of surface area, but not as much in terms of production due to its early growth, which is so misaligned with its location in relation to its cold requirements.
Given this reality that Santina is experiencing, Matías Kulzcewski recommended being very careful throughout the entire production chain, from cultivation to export, since in his opinion, this could open or close the doors to the rest of the cherry industry in Chile. He added that all agronomic management must be carried out correctly and with greater excellence than before, given that today we are in a market where there is more supply than demand.
