Latin America: One of the key food fairs of the region to be held in September

Space Food & Service is the most important professional food fair in Chile and the second in Latin America, where over 25,000 industry professionals gather in person over the course of 3 days. They seek to explore solutions for their businesses and market trends. This year, the event will take place from September 26th to 28th.

The fair was established in 2011 with the aim of providing a space for networking and business interactions. It brings together companies, suppliers, public organizations, and professionals from the sector. The 11th edition will be held at the Espacio Riesco Events and Convention Center. This event serves as a platform for the industry’s key players to showcase the latest innovations and trends in products, services, and technologies. Space Food & Service serves as a B2B meeting point that fosters new business opportunities and strengthens relationships with commercial partners.

Given the significant changes in the food industry in recent years and following the lead of emerging trends such as plant-based and vegan diets, fair trade, artificial intelligence, robotics, data management, and automation, concepts that are already deeply rooted in the sector will continue to gain prominence during the fair, with expanded exhibition spaces and sectors.

Brazil will be the honored guest country. More than 20 exhibiting companies from various sectors of the Brazilian food industry will occupy a significant portion of the Expocenter. The spokesperson for Brazil at the fair, Ana Paula Repezza, Business Director of ApexBrasil, stated that “Brazil aims to strengthen cooperation and trade with South American countries in the coming years, reinforcing the Mercosur bloc. One of the common challenges we face is making our food industries more productive and sustainable, as we simultaneously address issues of food security and climate change.”

“Brazil is a major producer of a wide variety of foods and beverages. In some sectors, it ranks as the world’s top producer. Despite being geographically close to other South American countries, there are many products that we don’t produce but find in Chile, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, or Argentina. Therefore, being present at this fair provides us with the opportunity to discover new product varieties, along with technology and innovation, while highlighting regional characteristics and health considerations,” she added.
