Chilean cherries land at Ezhou Huahu International Airport

This is the first charter flight of the season carrying chilean cherries to China.

A Boeing 777 cargo plane, loaded with 100 tons of Chilean cherries, landed at Ezhou Huahu International Airport in Hubei Province on November 7.

This is the first cargo charter flight for Chilean cherries from Huahu Province, China, marking the official launch of the special route for Chilean cherries at the International Airport for the 2025-26 season.

Operated by Ethiopian Airlines, three to five regular flights are scheduled on this route each week.

ProChile’s Trade Commissioner in Beijing, Andrรฉs Gebauer, along with the Chilean Ambassador to China, Pablo Arriarรกn, welcomed the inaugural flight for the 2025-2026 season to the city of Ezhou and celebrated the 8th anniversary of Ethiopian Airlines’ shipments of Chilean cherries.

“This marks a new beginning full of opportunities,” commented Pablo Arriarรกn Ahumada, Chile’s Ambassador to China, adding that “by combining Chile’s unique agricultural advantages with world-class logistics, innovation, and the dynamism of China’s consumer market, we can achieve great success.”
